But what if you can't afford to hire a professional to do the job?

 

Here are some tips for some easy staging tips you can do yourself.

1) Kitchen. Make sure you put away such things as detergent, sponges, oven mitts, magnets for the fridge and small appliances, and pills of any sort. There should never be any food out except for a bowl of fruit.

2) Bathrooms. Remove all your personal things. Hairdryers, brushes, toothbrushes, toiletries. Only display new bars of soap and make sure your towels are the best that you have. If your shower curtain shows signs of wear, replace it.

3) Living Room/Family Room. Turn off your TV's and instead turn on the stereo with relaxing instrumental music. You can place some attractive books on your coffee table.

4) Dining Room. Use an attractive centerpiece for your table. Polish your chandelier and if you have a dimmer switch, use it.

5) Bedrooms. Get the TV out of there. Replace your bedspreads if needed and always make the beds. Remember no clutter.

6) Porch or Deck. If you have a patio table, it's always nice to stage a table setting there. Add some pretty potted plants.
